Barcelona Study Abroad Experience

We believe that study abroad should be affordable to all students which is why, in addition to low program costs, Barcelona SAE offers several scholarship options and information about financial aid.

Barcelona SAE Blogger Scholarship

• This scholarship is for a student of journalism who will blog about his/her experiences for the duration of the program
• Award Amount: $150-$250
• Eligibility: Participants of a Barcelona SAE semester, summer or internship program of at least 4 weeks in length.
• Application Requirements: Submit the Barcelona SAE Blogger Scholarship Application with the Barcelona SAE application and deposit.
• Barcelona SAE Blogger Scholarship recipients will be expected to make an extra effort to engage in the Barcelona student life by participating in activities, extra excursions, and by meeting locals then share these experiences in a blog.
• Deadline: The application for this scholarship is 2 weeks after the application deadline for the program.

Barcelona SAE Photojournalism Scholarship

• We would like to encourage a student who is interested in photography to harness this talent while in Barcelona.
• Award Amount: $200
• Eligibility: Participants of a Barcelona SAE semester or summer program.
• Application Requirements: Submit the Barcelona SAE Photojournalism Scholarship Application with the Barcelona SAE application and deposit.
• Barcelona SAE Photojournalism Scholarship recipients will take, collect and edit student photographs for the duration of the program covering student life and Barcelona scenes. The recipient will also work under the supervision of the Barcelona SAE director on a final project with these photos.
• Deadline: The application for this scholarship is 2 weeks after the application deadline for the program.

Barcelona SAE Early Decision Discount

Barcelona SAE would like to encourage and reward students who confirm early for their Study or Intern Abroad Experience.

• Award Amount: $100 off the program cost
• Eligibility: For Fall, Spring and Summer Study Abroad programs and Internship programs of any length
• Application Requirements: Submit a completed Barcelona SAE application and pay the confirmation deposit before the deadlines listed below.
• Disbursement: The $100 will be deducted from the final invoice. Students are subject to all Barcelona SAE refund and program cost policies.
• Deadlines:
  For BIC Summer Session I: December 31, 2011 (program start date May 29, 2012)
  For BIC Summer Session II: January 15, 2011 (program start date June 28, 2012)
  For UAB Summer: December 31, 2011 (program start date May 30 2012)
  For UB summer: January 15, 2011 (program start date June 27 2012)
  
  For Internships: 6 calendar months before internship start date
  
  For all Fall 2012 semester programs: before March 1, 2012

Barcelona SAE Leadership Scholarship

• Available to campus leaders and members of student and social organizations, the scholarship is provided to enhance the awareness of a participant's experience to an engaged audience on campus.
• Award amount: $200-$500
• Eligibility: Student and community leaders applying for the Summer, Semester or Internship programs
• Must be a leader or officer of a campus, community or social organization.
• Recipients are expected to share their experiences and increased global awareness with his/her organization through travel journals and make a presentation to his/her organization.
• Application Requirements: Enroll in a Barcelona SAE Semester or Internship program, fill out the Barcelona SAE Leadership Scholarship, and share your experiences to the member organization before, during, and after the program. 

Barcelona SAE Bring-a-Friend Discount

• Studying or interning abroad with Barcelona SAE is even more fun when you bring a friend with to share in the experience!
• Bring-a-Friend: $200 off of a Semester or $150 off a Summer Study Program
• $150 off of an Intern Program
• Just specify on your application form that you are bringing a friend along and you will enjoy this discount.
• If you would like to share the discount with a friend, you will split the discount (i.e. for summer study abroad, each friend will receive $75 off their program)
