Crossroads: Migration, Borders, and Identity Between Europe and Africa **Credits:** 3 **Hours: ** 45 This course examines migration and border control dynamics operating at the European-African borderland. It addresses ongoing debates about European identity and the rise of xenophobic and Islamophobic discourses across Europe. By particularly focusing on the Spanish case, the course connects current politically relevant processes with the legacy of colonial interventions in the African continent. With a strong emphasis in current theoretical debates ongoing in the fields of political geography and population geography, the course scrutinizes current demographic challenges, immigration policies and ongoing geopolitical disputes (between the EU and its neighborhood).
