What are you up to these days? Have you graduated? Are you working? How did your experience in Barcelona have an impact on your life?

This study abroad experience really did impact me. Spain’s culture is very different than United States culture. That one aspect alone left a large impact on my life, and I believe will forever.

If you were to sum up your Barcelona experience in one to two words, what would you say? My Barcelona Experience is…

MEETING PEOPLE and DISCOVERING BARCELONA.

Explain why you chose those words.

I chose those because that’s what I found myself doing most of the time. Every Wednesday and Friday I would go out and play games with the locals, and it was one of the most fun things I’ve ever done.

What was your favorite place to eat in Barcelona? Favorite food?

My favorite place to eat in was Bacao. It is an amazing burger place.

What was your favorite tour, day trip, or cultural activity? Why?

The trip to Besalú was my favorite. I have never seen or touched something from that age before. Walking through the cobblestone streets, and crossing the medieval bridge was amazing.

If you had one perfect day in Barcelona where would you go, and what would you do?

I would spend the day in the Gothic Barrio during December. All the lights, Christmas stores, and decorations were by far my favorite thing to see.

What was something you were surprised to learn about Barcelona or Spain? Or what aspect of the country or city were you least expecting?

I was surprised by the language of Catalan. Before coming to Barcelona, I had no idea that the locals spoke Catalan.
