What was your favorite place to eat in Barcelona? Favorite food?
The bocadillos con jamon iberico y pan con tomate are a classic. Not only are they a crux to the spanish diet, but it is one of the few foods I can eat everyday, and not get tired of it.
What was your favorite tour, day trip, or cultural activity? Why?
The trip to Zaragoza was amazing. We had the opportunity to see Belchite, a ruined city from the civil war. So much history, balanced with so much modern culture, made that weekend truly a worthwhile experience.
Is there a site in Barcelona that you would recommend to future students that may be a little more “off the beaten path”?
If you had one perfect day in Barcelona where would you go, and what would you do?
I would go to the beach, and play guitar on the pathways near the ocean.
What was something you were surprised to learn about Barcelona or Spain? Or what aspect of the country or city were you least expecting?
The divide between the Catalan culture and the rest of Spain was something I didn’t expect; and the two different flags symbolizing the Catalan desire for independence really highlights this.
