What are you up to these days? Have you graduated? Are you working? How did your experience in Barcelona have an impact on your life?

My favorite thing was getting close with everyone on the trip and getting into our routine/doing new activities together.

If you were to sum up your Barcelona experience in one to two words, what would you say? My Barcelona Experience is…

AMAZING

Explain why you chose those words.

I had an AMAZING time during my study abroad. I enjoyed the class I took, the places we went, the food we ate, our apartment, the people we met, etc…everything.

What was your favorite place to eat in Barcelona? Favorite food?

L’Olivera

What was your favorite tour, day trip, or cultural activity? Why?

Park Guell – it was beautiful and the history behind it was very interesting. The cooking class was also super fun and the food was great.

What was your housing experience like? Did you live in an apartment with other students? A homestay with a local family? A residence hall on your Barcelona campus?

I loved the apartments that we stayed in in Clot, and I think it was a lot of fun living with four other girls. I would definitely recommend it to future students.

Is there a site in Barcelona that you would recommend to future students that may be a little more “off the beaten path”?

Karaoke bar called the Weekend.

If you had one perfect day in Barcelona where would you go, and what would you do?

I would’ve gone to the market and gotten a pastry from the bakery for breakfast, gone to see the arc and shop in the area, then go to see a comedy show at the Comedy Club House, and finally get tapas near the beach.

What was something you were surprised to learn about Barcelona or Spain? Or what aspect of the country or city were you least expecting?

I was surprised about the time and eating culture. You are welcome to stay and sit at the restaurant after you have finished eating to talk and hang with the people you’re with, and dinner is also pretty late.

What is one piece of advice that you have for future students coming to Barcelona?

Bring lightweight clothes, comfortable shoes, and sunglasses.

Why was Barcelona SAE the right program for you?

This was the right program for me because I am studying tourism and the course was specifically focused on health and wellness tourism…and along with that, I will take any opportunity I can to travel. This was a great experience!
