Introduction
The remote workplace has become a reality, making it a great time to build your resumé and gain international professional work experience without leaving home. You’ll walk away with an experience that will truly set you apart in your job search as more and more companies shift towards remote work cultures.
Programs are available for 6,8 or 12 weeks during the Fall + Spring Semesters and 6 or 8 weeks during the Summer, so please check our dates & costs for program availability.
Why Intern Virtually?
We’ve created the Barcelona SAE Virtual Internship program to be affordable, environmentally friendly, and culturally engaging – bringing you the same benefits of our Barcelona internship program straight to your laptop.
You will be matched with a Spanish company through our personalized placement process. The hours are flexible, as you will be working on projects and tasks and checking in with your supervisor in set meetings to report on your progress. During the program you’ll meet with Barcelona SAE staff for guided reflection and coaching to help keep you on the path of understanding the cultural, professional, and logistical pieces of work-life in Barcelona.
All companies who host a remote internship on this program are based in Spain, and available in Spanish or English. We are committed to finding each virtual intern a professional placement that matches your career ambitions and goals to ensure that your resume stands out. We offer a wide range of virtual internship placements for the following majors:

Itinerary
You will begin your virtual internship with a personalized placement process and matching to Spanish company. You’ll then have an orientation and Barcelona SAE staff will be at your side in your first meeting with your supervisor(s) as you set out expectations and tasks for your project.
Once you begin, the work is largely independent and the specific schedule for each intern will vary slightly according to the needs of their company. You will be expected to spend approximately 20 hours each week working on projects for your internship placement, so we do not recommend that you combine this program with working/studying a full load.
During your program, you’ll have access to the Barcelona SAE Mentor Coaching Cafés, open-door virtual hangouts where interns can drop in to chat with the internships team and other interns about professional and cultural themes. Add in our professional development toolkits and Cultural Agenda with opportunities to participate in language exchanges with locals, virtual tours, Spanish recipes and more… and you will be able to experience Spanish culture without stepping foot on a plane.
Add in our Professional Development Wrap-Up Workshop focused on resumé building, and you’ll walk away with an experience that will truly set you apart in your job search as more and more companies shift towards remote work cultures.
