Deciding to stay with a host family was the best decision I could have made when choosing my housing.
My host mother, Nany, kindly welcomed me into her home with open arms (and a ton of food)! I loved coming home and talking to her at the end of each day. She taught me so much about the Spanish language and culture, and was incredibly supportive through the happy, sad, stressful, and fun times during my semester in Barcelona.
I will forever cherish the time I spent with Nany…from Saturday siestas, to conversations at dinner, to binge watching “supervivientes” and even taking our dog Tattoo for walks around the park. Some of my favorite memories are those that were made with Nany. I know I’ll always have a home and family in Barcelona. ¡Gracias por todo, Nany; siempre en mi corazón estarás!
