It was a lot of fun to explore a new city and get to know it as my own.

Is there a site in Barcelona that you would recommend to future students that may be a little more “off the beaten path”?

La Taverna El Glop has the best paella in the Gràcia neighborhood!

What was something you were surprised to learn about Barcelona or Spain? Or what aspect of the country or city were you least expecting?

Before studying in Barcelona I didn’t know much about Spanish history, so hearing about how much Catalonia was repressed during Franco’s dictatorship in Spain was crazy.

What is one piece of advice that you have for future students coming to Barcelona?

Be open to trying new things! Say yes to as much as you can – it’s good to be a little uncomfortable!
