The TODOS Sounding Board provides professional development in the area of diversity, equity, and inclusion, and a space to share collective challenges and solutions around D/E/I across the field of international education.

The Sounding Board will be focused on the 3 Do’s (Discussion, Direction, and Development). The collective knowledge that is collected will then be broken down into actionable goals to be implemented within Barcelona SAE and shared with the greater community.

Deana Brim

Deana Brim

Assistant Director of Study Abroad at NC A&T State University

Deana Brim, the new Assistant Director of Study Abroad at NC A&T, brings with them a wealth of experience and passion for international education. With a background deeply rooted in fostering global connections, Deana previously served as the PDSO, Study Abroad, and ISSS Advisor, as well as Associate Director at Winston Salem State University (WSSU). In those roles, Deana helped create several faculty-led programs to places such as Ghana, Kenya, Brazil and Cuba and has advised and acclimated countless international students from around the world. Having dedicated 17 years to the field, Deana’s passion is connecting students to transformative international experiences and shaping global citizens of tomorrow. Beyond the office walls, you'll often find Deana jet-setting to new destinations, immersing herself in fantasy and sci-fi worlds through reading, browsing bookstores, and trying new restaurants with girlfriends.

Gladiz De la Rosa

Gladiz De la Rosa

Intern at UNC Charlotte

Rosa is an intern at the Office of Education Abroad in the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She is an International Studies and Japanese Studies double major and is a first generation student who will graduate in May 2024. Originally from Puerto Rico, Rosa had her study abroad experience in Japan for a month in the summer, and returned home to help promote studying abroad in her university via her internship. She promotes the Office of Education Abroad through social media and manages the Study Abroad Ambassadors program.

Olivia Ellis

Olivia Ellis

Education Abroad Advisor & Scholarships Coordinator at the University of Kentucky

Born and raised in Eastern Kentucky, Olivia hails from Van Lear – a small coal-mining town in Appalachia. Her passion for all things international started there as a bright eyed kid with teachers willing to support her. She attended Transylvania University for her B.A. in International Affairs and German Studies, where she studied abroad in Munich, Germany. She continued her education at the University of Kentucky with her M.A. in Diplomacy and International Commerce with a focus in Transnational Organizations and Development. Olivia has served in the field for six years and has held a variety of positions in the UK office. In her roles, Olivia has found joy in helping students and their families navigate the education abroad experience. The world may seem too big for many people to take on alone, so she works to make it accessible and manageable for students and families.

Kristen Fearson

Kristen Fearson

Education Abroad Advisor at UNC Charlotte

Kristen (she/her) is an Education Abroad Advisor at UNC Charlotte. She has worked in several facets of higher education including student support services, success coaching, and health and wellness services. She strives to support students holistically and enjoys learning about, and from her students and colleagues. She received her B.S. from Central Michigan University in Spanish & Leadership and her M. Ed. from Point Loma Nazarene University in Counseling and Guidance. Kristen studied abroad in Alicante, Spain, and Playa del Carmen, Mexico. She volunteered abroad in Chiang Mai, Thailand and has spent time in various other countries. She believes strongly in the power of international education and loves sharing this passion with students.

Robyn Stewart

Robyn Stewart

Study Abroad Advisor at North Carolina State University

As a Study Abroad Advisor, Robin advises undergraduate students for the College of Humanities and Social Science & the College of Education. She also coordinates pre-departure and re-entry programming for NC State students in addition to managing partnerships with the UK and Central Europe. Robin holds a M.Ed. in Higher Education Leadership from The Citadel Military College and a B.S. in Management & Information Systems from Tulane University. Prior to joining the Pack, Robin worked in the Center for Academic Performance & Persistence at the College of Charleston. Originally from Charleston, SC, Robin has studied abroad as an undergraduate in Poland through the Department of Jewish Studies, participated in short-term programs in El Salvador and Puerto Rico, and completed a summer study abroad program in the UK as a grad student.

Adrienne Theune

Adrienne Theune

Study Abroad Coordinator at the University of Central Florida

Adrienne Theune (she/her/hers) is a Study Abroad Coordinator at the University of Central Florida. The roots of her passion for travel, started with homeland visits to Thailand where she was adopted from. Her eagerness to explore the world continued at Colorado State University where Adrienne studied Global Tourism and abroad for a semester in Mallorca, Spain. After university, she worked as an operations assistant for a US travel company in Costa Rica. When the pandemic hit, she found herself back in the higher education space and completed a MS in Global Higher Education at the University of Wisconsin – Madison. Adrienne is driven to expand holistic programming to support marginalized students in addition to helping students better explore and understand their identities while abroad.
