What are you up to these days? Have you graduated? Are you working? How did your experience in Barcelona have an impact on your life?

I am now back in Colorado, but had the amazing opportunity to go back to Barcelona as a “Best of the Best” intern with Barcelona SAE in the Summer of 2015!

If you were to sum up your Barcelona experience in one to two words, what would you say? My Barcelona Experience is…

Exploring everyday, many tapas, barca champions.

Explain why you chose those words.

Exploring Everyday: there is something new to discover everyday, one of my favorite things to do was to walk home after class taking a new route each time I did, this way I would got acquainted with new sites, shops and restaurants each time Many tapas: FOOD, FOOD, FOOD! You are guaranteed to find food that fits your taste in Barcelona, it is a city that offers basically everything when it comes to food. Barca Champions: During my second time here, FC Barcelona won the three leagues it was participating in. It was so cool to see how passionate fans are about soccer and it was fun to celebrate with locals after each win.

What was your favorite place to eat in Barcelona? Favorite food?

My favorite place to eat in Barcelona is Juicy Jones because they offer a wide range of vegan dishes and their smoothies are incredible! During my time in Barcelona I developed a taste for falafel, you can find Doner Kabobs pretty much anywhere in Barcelona and they are so good!

What was your favorite tour, day trip, or cultural activity? Why?

My favorite trip was Granada because it was a very different Spain than Barcelona and it was a place full of history.

What is one piece of advice that you have for future students coming to Barcelona?

Keep an open mind. While you are abroad you will meet people from all over with all different types of backgrounds. Keep an open mind and this will go a long way, this will broaden your perspective of what you perceive to be normal or what you are accustomed to and in the end this will help you form relationships with people that will last way beyond your study abroad experience.
