If you were to sum up your Barcelona experience in one to two words, what would you say? My Barcelona Experience is…

Eye Opening

Explain why you chose those words.

You travel across the world, expecting the area and people to be completely different, but you realize just how similar we all are. Yes, our cultures and norms are different, but our driving forces as humans are the same – we all eat, laugh, cry, and are doing the best we can. This was especially evident to me during the Barcelona SAE trip to Morocco and opened my eyes to just how similar we are as humans.

Is there a site in Barcelona that you would recommend to future students that may be a little more “off the beaten path”?

Take a couple of hours to walk around El Born or Barrio Gòtico – wander the streets and you will stumble up hidden treasures around every corner.

If you had one perfect day in Barcelona where would you go, and what would you do?

I would go for a run in Parc de la Ciutadella on a sunny day and then eat brunch with my friends at a local brunch restaurant (Brunch & Cake is a must!)

What is one piece of advice that you have for future students coming to Barcelona?

Don’t be afraid to do things on your own. Whether its eating by yourself at a restaurant, or taking a day trip by yourself – get outside of your comfort zone and go by yourself, you will love it!
