Medical Care Services & Support
All Barcelona SAE students are enrolled in comprehensive health insurance for the duration of their program. In the event of illness or injury, our program partners with a trusted local hospital and clinic that offers 24/7 English-speaking translators and support with the insurance process, ensuring medical care is accessible and stress-free. Our onsite Health & Safety team provides guidance throughout the incident and compassionate follow-up care to support each student's full recovery.
Emergency Support
Barcelona SAE provides 24/7 emergency assistance through our dedicated emergency phone line. In the event of an emergency, trained staff offer immediate support and thorough follow-up to ensure student safety and well-being. Our support extends far beyond the initial response - our team remains actively involved to ensure students feel supported and cared for.
Mental Health Resources
Student mental health is a top priority at Barcelona SAE. Participants have access to English-speaking mental health professionals, with program insurance covering up to 10 therapy sessions. Our onsite mentors and Health & Safety Team are available to support students experiencing challenges such as culture shock, homesickness, or anxiety, helping them feel supported and resilient throughout their experience abroad.
Safety Education & Prevention
Safety preparation starts before students even arrive in Barcelona. We provide detailed pre-departure materials, in-person orientation upon arrival, and safety reminders throughout each term. These resources include practical tips for navigating the city safely, avoiding common risks such as pickpocketing, staying safe during nightlife activities, and timely health and safety updates.
Housing Standards
Barcelona SAE carefully vets all student housing to meet high standards of safety and comfort. Whether living with host families or in shared student apartments or residence halls, accommodations undergo interviews, inspections, and regular reviews. Safety features such as smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, and fire blankets are standard in all housing placements, ensuring a secure living environment.
