If you were to sum up your Barcelona experience in one to two words, what would you say? My Barcelona Experience is…
Breathtaking, Amazing
Explain why you chose those words.
I felt like I was in awe my entire trip. No matter what we were doing or learning I was always excited about it. There was never a disappointing moment during my study abroad and I couldn’t wait to learn more.
What was your favorite place to eat in Barcelona? Favorite food?
All of the amazing Pintxos along Carrer de Blai.
What was your favorite tour, day trip, or cultural activity? Why?
Our day trip to Tarragona! It was great to get away from the city a bit and enjoy the slow paced environment. The views were breathtaking and I loved learning the history of the area!
What was your housing experience like? Did you live in an apartment with other students? A homestay with a local family? A residence hall on your Barcelona campus?
We stayed in MH Tetuan. I thought the apartment was in a great location and was very nice!
Is there a site in Barcelona that you would recommend to future students that may be a little more “off the beaten path”?
I loved having the opportunity to have a local guide show us the area’s we were in! It was great getting to know the history of what we were seeing as well as having a local perspective. I loved speaking with them and making connections with the guides and getting to know them!
If you had one perfect day in Barcelona where would you go, and what would you do?
I would love to explore Park Güell and more areas in the mountains and just get lost for a while!
What was something you were surprised to learn about Barcelona or Spain? Or what aspect of the country or city were you least expecting?
How eco-friendly the city is! I love the ease of finding proper trash/recycle receptacles all throughout the area! They are doing such great things to make the city a better environment.
What is one piece of advice that you have for future students coming to Barcelona?
Be flexible. Some of the best moments happen when they were unexpected.
Why was Barcelona SAE the right program for you?
I really feel like Barcelona SAE took the time to create the right program for us. The work and attention to detail really showed throughout our itinerary and made our trip that much more enjoyable! I really appreciated some of the suggestions as well as the Barcelona SAE Bucket List to give us ideas of things we may have not done otherwise!
